| Flat Fee Services The business of law is unique in that the lawyers have all the incentive to be inefficient and the clients are nonethewiser in the process. This power dynamic is caused by hourly billing, which is far to common in the legal universe. While some situations are impossible to build a pricing structure other than the hourly rate, many services can be priced as a flat fee.
